The 21 billion euro valuation of Mistral AI, while impressive, isn't a guaranteed fail-safe for the entire AI Act's regulatory viability. This one high-profile success story doesn't mean the framework automatically works for smaller companies that face different downsides and have far less capital to handle compliance. We need to consider the conditions under which such a valuation was even possible, and if those conditions are replicable or just a unique event, especially for startups here in Tunisia trying to get off the ground with tight budgets. Relying on an isolated market event to validate a complex regulatory structure introduces a significant drawdown risk to any serious debate.
