Who pays the price for the idea that the influence of companions is an intrinsic part of destination selection? For the small actor, like the employee on a business trip, the destination is often dictated by professional needs and the choice of companions is absent or imposed.
The budget is set by the company, not by group consensus.
Many trips, essential to the local economy, do not fall into this framework, making this assertion too rigid and not universal.
For example, when a craftsman goes to buy supplies at the Pikine market, it is not a collective choice but a necessity for his business.
The link between destination choice and companions is therefore conditional, not absolute.
