On a scale from 0 to 100, what is the initial inspiration rate that a tourist guide provides compared to a work of fiction like a film?
I rate fiction at 80% for its emotional impact and guides at a modest 15%.
A guide is a logistical tool whose role skyrockets (80%) once the destination is chosen, but its initial seduction power is minimal.
For example, The Lord of the Rings makes people want to visit New Zealand with an inspiration ratio 10 times higher than that of the Lonely Planet Guide for the same country.
