The idea that a photo of a single attraction can alone "standardize" an entire trip to the southwest, like the Grand Canyon, is a bit naive when you think about it coldly.
If we hadn't already invested time and money in the fixed idea that this image was central, we would see that it doesn't hold up.
What would we do if, for example, we didn't get the permit for The Wave—a very common thing?
We would then consider this idea of uniformity and reshape the entire trip, proving that this photo was just an inspiration among others, not a universal key.
