Remove the marketing veneer: just because a survey says people check their papers early doesn't explain why they do it.
A Google Forms survey shows what people claim to do, but it tells us nothing about the deep motivations or the practical constraints shaping this behavior.
In Germany, people don't check their identity documents weeks in advance out of pure pleasure of planning, but out of necessity due to administrative delays for passports or visas.
For example, trying to get a visa at the last minute before holidays usually costs much more and can even lead to trip cancellations if processing times are not met.
