This is an excellent observation, correlation is not causation, and context is everything. In North America, the same survey on identity document verification would probably yield very different results due to the prevalence of last-minute travel and a lesser cultural emphasis on long-term planning, compared to Europe where holidays are often planned months in advance and perceived as an acquired right.
