Cut the noise: pre-checks give an indication, not a reliable information about the rainy season.
Weather, especially seasonal, is rarely an exact science and historical averages do not guarantee anything for the current year.
Relying on a travel guide for the weather of a specific week can lead to a bad surprise.
The reality on site can be very different, like expecting a sunny beach but finding continuous showers due to an unforeseen climate change.
The simplest is to be prepared for unexpected variations rather than cling to forecasts.

Cut through the noise: checking the rainy season before booking does not inform you of its actual occurrence, only its probability.
It's the simplest solution to remember: it's only a general indication, not a guarantee.
Actual weather conditions can vary greatly from what averages suggest.
For example, a site may indicate a “dry season,” but you could still experience unexpected showers due to microclimate or a rare event.

Thinking that a simple form is enough to uncover truths, or on the contrary, that it is useless, is a mistake. Neither one nor the other. The relevant question is rather: how can we obtain qualitative behavioral data from these surveys, for example by exploring responses through a semantic analysis of open fields to detect unspoken nuances?

Let's get rid of the hype: a Google Forms survey with only 78 responses to analyze travel planning habits changes nothing in how I perceive document verification.
This type of data collection, via such a specific tool, introduces an obvious sampling bias, as it mainly attracts profiles already comfortable with digital tools.
Here in Germany, where paper bureaucracy and data protection are paramount, such a method does not represent the diversity of travelers.
A paper form distributed at a post office or town hall, for example, would probably yield very different results regarding who verifies their papers in advance.
A proof more solid is needed to assert that 75% of travelers prepare weeks ahead.

Before convincing ourselves, we need to look at the risk of underestimation: preliminary checks before booking a ticket can only provide a general estimate of the rainy season, not a guarantee of occurrence.
It is crucial to understand that even the best research cannot predict actual weather events with absolute precision, and the low reliability rate must be taken into account.
The removal of forecasts should always be considered, as one year, the rainy season may be shorter or more intense than average.
For example, blindly relying on historical averages is like not checking the weather before starting a roof, expecting ideal conditions to persist.

Before convincing ourselves, we must look at the risk of under-information; preliminary checks are only a starting point.
Even with the best information about the rainy season, weather conditions can change unexpectedly.
The mandate is to protect against unforeseen events, not just to inform, because last-minute weather can always disrupt plans.
For example, a traveler might check historical data and still end up with torrential rains due to an unforeseen climatic event, rendering their initial planning obsolete.
