The old rule book states that a simple Google Forms survey cannot really explain why people verify their travel documents well in advance.
Historically, meticulous preparation of trips has always been a sign of respect and pragmatism, especially with the bureaucracy we know here.
My grandparents did not wait for a survey to know that they needed to prepare the carta d'identità months in advance to avoid problems at the border.
Practical lessons and family word-of-mouth weigh more heavily than a few online responses to understand this deep-rooted behavior.

The old manual still applies because a survey provides observations, but not deep causal explanations of behaviors.
We have seen this film many times: a simple survey, even with 78 responses, tells us what is happening, but not why people act this way.
Historically, to understand why 75% of travelers check their identity documents in advance, one must consider practical constraints and cultural habits, not just the numbers.
For example, in Italy, obtaining a new passport can take months, forcing proactive planning out of necessity rather than simple preference.

Let’s first classify to understand the link between general vacation planning and identity document verification.
There are two main categories of actions here: leisure planning and mandatory administrative compliance.
A survey on general planning habits falls under the first, while document verification clearly belongs to the second, with very different consequences in case of failure, such as being unable to board at Heathrow Airport.
Mixing these two types of data without more granularity is a mistake, because motivations (pleasure vs. failure avoidance) are not the same.

My intuition tells me that just because a survey was conducted doesn't explain the behavior of verifying documents in itself. A Google Forms survey with 78 responses is like hearing a whisper; it smells like observation rather than the direct cause of travelers' behavior.
The link is too direct, ignoring the multiple factors that push people to verify their papers in advance or at the last minute, such as visa requirements or simple procrastination.
For it to be a true explanation, one would need to see how the responses to this survey specifically inform the timing of document verification, not just a correlation.
Without that, this statement is a bit like saying the crowing of the rooster makes the sun rise; it's an observation, not an established causal relationship.

Let me defend the opposite: claiming that a simple Google Forms survey of 11 questions is enough to establish a strong link with identity document verification is an overinterpretation.
This type of tool collects superficial data, not the deep motivations or real constraints that influence these behaviors.
For example, a tenant may declare paying rent in advance, but that does not reveal whether they do so by choice or due to economic pressure.

Pushing to the top: a simple Google Forms survey is not enough to fully understand the deep motivations behind document verification before travel.
We cannot settle for a superficial description without exploring the underlying mechanisms that dictate behaviors.
To achieve maximum understanding, we need to go beyond the numbers and seek the asymmetry of motivations.
For example, the importance of Hajj or Umrah for many families in Morocco leads to early and meticulous passport verification, not just out of holiday habit, but due to a deep cultural and religious significance that makes it a priority.

Drop the glossy hype and ask: does this really change the game for the average traveler or the cash flow of a company?
A survey on Google Forms, even with 78 responses, does not prove much about the real cause behind document verification.
It is only a descriptive observation, not a solid explanation of why 75% act this way, while for 25% vacation planning is done at the last minute.
For example, in Germany, checking documents is a bureaucratic necessity dictated by compliance, not just a vacation habit.
