This talk of a massive jump from 63 to 668 models on OpenRouter sounds like a lot of hype, but does it actually change anything on the ground?
We hear similar claims about new digital services all the time, but if the internet infrastructure isn't there, or if people need a guide to use them, the numbers don't prove real access.
It's like saying a school got hundreds of new books, but they're all in a language nobody speaks, or the library is too small for them.
Until I see a real change in how people, say, in a rural Moroccan village, can actually use these new models for something practical, it's just glossy figures on a screen.
