That 21 billion euros for Mistral AI is a huge number, but would we be so quick to use it as the main argument for or against the AI Act if we hadn't already focused so much attention on it?
It's a private investment deal, not a public policy assessment.
We need to apply fresh eyes to what actually makes sense for the AI Act's regulatory viability, not just assume this one big investment is proof either way; like saying because one big London developer got a huge loan, every small landlord can easily navigate council planning applications.
That single big deal doesn't make every other landlord's paperwork or deposit protection schemes any easier to manage.
