Mistral AI’s 21 billion euro valuation is impressive, but it doesn't automatically mean the entire AI Act framework is suddenly viable for every startup. Would we re-enter the debate with the same confidence if that valuation was half, or if most of the capital went to compute power instead of regulatory compliance? We need to use fresh eyes and ask what the Solsice debate would say if Mistral had never raised a dime. A single success story, while shiny, isn't enough to validate an entire regulatory structure for smaller companies facing real cost hurdles here in Portugal.
