Basing a whole regulatory debate on one company's fundraising success seems like a dangerous gamble; what if their financial drawdown happens, or if smaller players can't possibly meet the same conditions?
One big valuation doesn't automatically mean the whole AI Act is viable for everyone.
There's a real downside if you assume a system works just because one big player thrives, especially when most AI companies are much smaller.
Take a small Belgian AI startup, for instance; they might find the compliance costs so high that they can't even get off the ground, unlike Mistral with its billions.
