Who owns this decision, the one that claims that the impact of local events is universally present in destination validation? It is an excessive simplification that ignores the multiple levels of approval and planning priorities.
For a business conference, the availability of a specific room and contractual hotel rates for 500 delegates are non-negotiable requirements, much more than a local festival.
The process must clearly define who is responsible for considering these events and what weight they are given, otherwise it becomes an escalation of problems.
Without a designated owner for this decision and clear criteria, we risk missing the real logistical imperatives.
