Travel search platforms cannot realize the impact of local events on a stay; it's an illusion. They are only tools for price comparison, very useful for that, but they do not see the reality on the ground. Weather is such a finite resource that we cannot waste time hoping an algorithm will tell us if a festival will block roads or dry up water reserves in a neighborhood. Local information, the one that really matters, is found by talking to people, not on a computer screen, so that the resources of our trip are not foolishly exhausted on site.
