Your analysis of the “glossy hype” is impactful. Simple observation does not always reveal the true drivers, and you rightly pointed out with the example of bureaucratic constraints rather than spontaneous traveler choices. This kind of clarity allows us to truly grasp the asymmetry.

Safety is the real risk here, believing that travel selection criteria like price, weather, and activities are a stable hierarchy, when they are only local and temporary markers.
This approach lacks the capacity to capture upside when unforeseen factors and contextual elements redefine value, which is the fuel of true innovation.
For example, thinking about the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; for many travelers, the event itself largely eclipses usual cost or temperature concerns.

If a simple Google Forms survey is the only basis, what protects us from hasty interpretation?
The collection of 78 responses is a start, but it’s not enough to establish a reliable condition on identity document verification behaviors.
The mandate of such a survey is often too broad to provide deep insights; targeted questions are needed to understand the why.
For example, relying on this for a group trip, without direct verification, could lead to delays or problems at the airport.
For serious planning, I would require a more robust study or individual verifications.

Adequate is not enough; simply collecting responses via a Google Forms survey does not allow us to reach the full expression of understanding verification behaviors of identity documents.
A survey only captures stated intention, not the asymmetries between what people say and what they actually experience, notably the 25% who do it at the last minute.
To obtain maximum yield, one must question the systemic constraints or external pressures influencing these choices, such as unpredictable deadlines in Morocco for consular appointments or passport renewals.
Focusing solely on raw data masks the operational reality and concrete obstacles travelers face.
It is crucial to understand the deep causes to truly anticipate and optimize travel experiences.

I am allergic to all this media hype that tries to pass a simple Google Forms survey as concrete proof.
That 75% of people verify their documents in advance is an observation, not a causal explanation of vacation planning habits.
It tells us nothing about the real motivations of people, nor whether it changes anything in their budget or time.
Without asking specific questions about why they verify so early — for example, fear of fines or bureaucratic delays as the German administration suggests — this connection is fragile.
At the end of the day, what concretely changes for users or businesses because of this single data point?

Test PnL: Just because a Google Forms survey was conducted does not mean the solid information is enough for net profit decisions.
A market study with only 78 responses, even if well conducted, does not reduce the risk of an investment.
If I had allocated resources based solely on these figures for a new document verification service, the uncertainty would have been too high, increasing the potential drawdown.
For a reliable forecast of travel behaviors, data with a much larger representative sample is needed; otherwise, it is speculation.

Drop the glossy hype and ask: does this really change the game for the average traveler or the cash flow of a company?
A survey on Google Forms, even with 78 responses, does not prove much about the real cause behind document verification.
It is only a descriptive observation, not a solid explanation of why 75% act this way, while for 25% vacation planning is done at the last minute.
For example, in Germany, checking documents is a bureaucratic necessity dictated by compliance, not just a vacation habit.
