It's true that OpenRouter's platform has seen a big jump from 63 to 668 models, which sounds impressive on paper.
But simply tracking model growth doesn't automatically mean that observation caused the expansion, which feels like hype to me.
Here in Morocco, we get new e-government portals that track how many people visit, but that doesn't mean those visits are solving actual problems or making daily life easier for the majority who still rely on in-person services.
The real question is, what tangible benefit or real cash flow change for a developer building with these models, beyond just more options?
