The increase from 63 to 668 models on OpenRouter might seem impressive on paper, but it doesn't automatically mean better operational outcomes for users.
We need to know the practical implications: are these new models reliable for everyday tasks, or just adding to the noise?
This growth needs to be a trigger for stricter certification, especially on data privacy and security, like we demand for any new software in a Belgian workplace.
For example, if half of these models have unclear data retention policies, then the sheer count is an invalidation of progress, not proof of it.
