The jump from 63 to 668 models on OpenRouter is a lot of hype about volume, but it hardly changes my practical approach to digital safety or what I advise people to do.
More models don't automatically mean better or safer ones; often it's just more options to sift through, which can be a bigger risk if not vetted properly, like a market flooded with glossy but untested software.
What truly matters is how these new models prove their real cash value and improve security outcomes, not just their existence.
Unless one of these actually prevents a phishing scam or makes strong password use effortless, it's just more noise in an already crowded space.
