The assertion that corporate brand identification is a major driver for LLM pricing is an overstatement; it's a conditional factor at best.
We need proper documentation of the ownership structure and the approved distribution channels before claiming a brand alone dictates pricing.
For instance, if a corporate brand like Anthropic releases a model, but the actual licensing terms allow various providers to offer it, then the legal framework and not just the brand is setting the competitive stage.
Without clear governance over how that brand translates into specific contractual obligations for pricing, it's just a marketing element, not a pricing mechanism.
